Question

Mathematics Question on Vectors

Given below are two statements:
Statement I: Let a\vec{a}, b\vec{b}, c\vec{c} be three vectors. Then the scalar (a×b)c(\vec{a}\times\vec{b})·\vec{c} is called the scalar product of a,b,c\vec{a},\vec{b},\vec{c} and is denoted by [abc]=a(b×c)[\vec{a}\vec{b}\vec{c}]=\vec{a}·(\vec{b}\times\vec{c}).
Statement II: a×b\vec{a}\times\vec{b} is vector which is ⊥ to a\vec{a} and b\vec{b} both.
In the light of the above Statements, choose the most appropriate answer from the options given below :

A

Both Statement I and Statement II are correct

B

Both Statement I and Statement II are incorrect

C

Statement I is correct but statement II is incorrect

D

Statement I is incorrect but statement II is correct

Answer
