Give the example of man-made and natural factors affecting the environment.

Explanation

Solution

The environment suffers a lot because of natural and human-caused factors. But mostly it is disturbed by man-made causes due to the Increasing population and its demands.

Complete step by step answer:
The man-made factors that can affect the environment are:
a) Deforestation: It is the continuous removal of forests in order to create space for farms, ranches, and urban use.
b) Global warming: It is the long term heating of the earth's surface and climate due to human activities. It is one of the most burning issues of the earth right now.
c) Desertification: It is the land degradation due to natural processes but can be induced by human activities by which fertile areas become arid.
d) Pollution: It is the introduction of unusual or chemical contaminants into the natural environment which causes degradation of soil, water, and air and also there's noise pollution that causes changes in the natural environment of the earth.
e) Ocean acidification: When oceans' pH decreases by the uptake of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, is known as ocean acidification.
f) Ozone depletion: Due to an increase in some compounds in the atmosphere, the ozone layer in the stratosphere gets depleted and the number of harmful UV rays entering the Earth's surface increases. This problem is called ozone depletion.
The natural causes affecting the environment are:
a) Earthquakes: It is the phenomenon of shaking of the earth due to a sudden release in the Earth's lithosphere which creates seismic waves. The violent ones can destroy a large amount of property and take the lives of many people and animals.
b) Drought: It is the scarcity of water be it atmospheric, surface or groundwater. It can be short as well as long term.
c) Tsunami: This is caused by waves in the water body that displaces a large volume of water and can destroy a whole city or if not more than that.
d) Forest fires: Forest fire or wildfire is a fire caused in the forests by natural as well as human activities like arson, campfire, etc.
e) Volcanic eruption: It is a completely natural process when lava and gas come out through a volcanic vent. The most dangerous type is the Glowing avalanche.

Note: If human activities aren't controlled well in the next few decades, problems like global warming and ozone depletion will increase to the point that the earth will no longer be suitable for life to sustain. But in the current time, humans are getting concerned about the future and began to put efforts for a greater future for our next generations and to conserve the environment and its living beings for them.
