Question
Question: Give six orders from the class Schizomycetes....
Give six orders from the class Schizomycetes.
Solution
Schizomycetes are a class of singular cell or non-cellular organisms that do not possess chlorophyll. It comprises all the bacteria and are prokaryotes however they are classified as fungi or rather fission fungi.
Complete answer:
Schizomycetes, a taxonomic class that comes under the plant kingdom and includes all the bacteria. Schizomycetes are a group of bacteria that are classified into ten orders, out of which six are given below-
1. Pseudomonadales- these are either rod-shaped or spiral shaped bacteria that either contain flagella or not. These can be parasitic or saprophytic in nature.
2. Eubacteriales- these are flagellated, spherical or rod shaped bacteria.
3. Chlamydobacteriales- this is an order of class actinobacteria which include filamentous and chemosynthetic autotrophic organisms in nature.
4. Hyphomicrobiales- this is an order which include those bacteria that for reproduction use bud like structure for example yeast.
5. Caryophanales- these are either sporophytic or parasitic in nature and are filamentous bacteria.
6. Beggiatoa- these are the genus of movable bacteria that are filamentous as well as flexible in nature.
Additional information- Phthisis, typhoid fever, anthrax, Diphtheria are all caused due to various bacteria or schizomycetes that enter our body and then affect it in various ways. So, it becomes an important task to know about its history, origin, characteristics and other related features so that it becomes easy to rectify the harm it has caused.
Note-
Schizomycetes are classified as aerobic or anaerobic by Pasteur because of their behavior with respect to the supply or exclusion of oxygen respectively. They are also considered as degenerate algae due to their parasitic and saprophytic habits.
