Question

Mathematics Question on Volume of a Right Circular Cone

Find the volume of the right circular cone with
(i) radius 6 cm, height 7 cm
(ii) radius 3.5 cm, height 12 cm

Answer

(i) Radius of the cone, r = 6 cm
Height of the cone, h = 7 cm
Volume of the cone = 13πr²h\frac{1}{3}\text{πr²h}
=13\frac{1}{3} × 227\frac{22}{7} × 6 cm × 6 cm × 7 cm
= 264 cm³

(ii) Radius of the cone, r = 3.5 cm
Height of the cone, h = 12 cm
Volume of the cone = 13πr2h\frac{1}{3}\pi r²h
= 13\frac{1}{3} × 227\frac{22}{7} × 3.5 cm × 3.5 cm × 12 cm
= 154 cm³
