The equilibrium force equation of the50g block can be written as,

From adding equation (1), (2), and (3) and simplifying the equation we found an equation that,
5−21−0.5=0.65a⇒0.65a=4∴a=6.15ms−2
Thus the required answer to the question is 6.14ms−2.
