Answer

57-\frac{5}{7} = 5×37×3\frac{-5\times 3}{7\times 3} = 1521\frac{-15}{21}
23\frac{2}{3} = 2×73×7\frac{2\times7}{3\times 7} =1421\frac{14}{21}
As - 15 < 14,
Therefore, -57\frac{5}{7}<23\frac{2}{3}


(ii)-45\frac{4}{5}__-57\frac{5}{7}
-45\frac{4}{5} = -4×75×7\frac{4\times7}{5\times 7} = 2835-\frac{28}{35}
57-\frac{5}{7} = 5×55×7-\frac{5\times5}{5\times 7} =2535-\frac{25}{35}
As - 28 < - 25
