The fertilization of ovum takes place in the fallopian tube. The fertilized egg moves through the fallopian tube and reaches to the uterine wall or the lining of the uterus where it is implanted. After the 11 days of fertilization, the embryo gets embedded into the wall of the uterus. The place where the embryo or blastocyst gets attached to the wall of the uterus, a pouch-like structure is developed that is filled with water. It is called the womb.
