Industrial waste is the waste generated by industrial activities which contain various harmful and organic elements which are dangerous and affect human life, crops and aquatic life. The harmful elements like zinc, lead and copper and various others pollute the water bodies and are hazardous for the aquatic animals so it is very important to neutralize the waste before disposal in water bodies.

In this highly globalised world, population is increasing at a faster rate and thus, the usage of the resources available to us is also increasing but that also means that to fulfill the increasing needs there is also a need to increase the production and availability of the resources which are being used at a much faster rate. Thus, housing facilities need to be increased therefore, forests are being cut down and industries are growing for producing the utilities. With the increase in production there is also an increase in waste from industries.

Industrial waste is the waste being produced by the industries which are an outcome of the industrial activities. Industrial waste includes solvents, chemicals, vegetable matter, oil, concrete and various other elements in solid, liquid and gaseous form and organic and recyclable waste also. The presence of various chemicals or elements in the waste is very harmful if not disposed properly like zinc, copper arsenic are harmful elements in waste which lead to pollution, danger to crops and human life and also affects aquatic life. Thus, the proper disposal of this waste is very necessary.

The waste produced if is disposed off into the water bodies before being treated then the harmful elements like Zn, Cu, Pb, As pollute the water bodies and damage the aquatic life as this untreated waste is consumed by water animals which damages their gill tissues and also decays the water bodies.
