Explain the process of breathing in human beings.

Explanation

Solution

Breathing is the process of taking in oxygen (inhaling) and giving out carbon dioxide (exhaling) through the nose.

Complete answer:
Breathing involves primarily lungs. Lungs are two in number and are placed on the left and right side of the heat. This is placed within the thoracic cavity. Rib cage protects the soft organ as in lungs, heart etc.
A sheet of muscles called a diaphragm is placed just below it which expands and relaxes while breathing. Many other respiratory systems are involved which include such as the trachea, or windpipe, and bronchi, conduct air to the lungs.
Process of breathing in humans is as follow:
Air enters through the pharynx via the nose. As we know pharynx is a common passage for food and air both so due to reflex the trachea is closed or else it would cause obstruction. Where the air passes from the trachea which is further divided into two main branches called as primary bronchi further to secondary tertiary bronchi and then to bronchioles.
Inspiration: Is the inhaling of air where the diaphragm expands and the volume of lungs increase as the chest expands and air pressure in alveolar decreases. So, the air rushes to the alveoli where oxygen is filtered and carbon dioxide is exhaled out
Expiration: is the exhaling out of air through the nose. During expiration the diaphragm contracts and the volume decreases and carbon dioxide is exhaled out.

Note:
Breathing is provided to keep our health by keeping our mind clear, helping our heart and other functions to work properly.
