Draw a scientifically correct and labelled diagram of a human eye and answer the question based on it:
State the nature of the image formed of the object on the screen inside the eye ?

Explanation

Solution

As we know that the eye of a human acts like a lens and the image formed is sent to the brain in the form of a signal and there it is processed for the visual information to be acted upon by humans.

Complete step by step answer:
Consider the following diagram of the human eye as,

As it can be seen in the figure below the eye of a human is very similar to that of a convex lens. As the image formed by the convex lens is real and inverted if the position of the object is before the focus, so is the image formed by the eye. When the image is kept at the center of the lens it forms a virtual and erect image as per its nature.
The firsthand image formed at the retina of the normal eye is real and inverted this image by converging mostly at the cornea while entering and exiting the lens and is further sent to the brain via optic nerves and chemical impulses. The brain then processes the message collected and turns it into an erect image that we see through our eyes.

Note: We know that the process of sending signals to the brain and processing the signal happens in a fraction of second and that’s why we can act quickly as per the visual information we get from the brain.
