Do humans fall under the category of animal kingdom?

The kingdom animalia comprises multicellular eukaryotes that possess nervous coordination. Photosynthetic pigments or plastids are absent and so mode of nutrition is heterotrophic. Most of the organisms of this kingdom are capable of locomotion.

We all are well aware that the animal kingdom comprises all the animals except for the protozoans that have been transferred to the kingdom protista. All the members present are multicellular eukaryotes. Their cells do not have the cell walls or vacuole. However, they have a high level of tissue differentiation with specialized organs. Reproduction is mainly sexual with eggs or sperms being the only haploid stage.
Almost 99% of animals are invertebrates i.e. animals without backbone while the remaining are vertebrates i.e. animals that have backbone. On the basis of presence and absence of notochord at some stage in life, animals are classified into two major groups- chordates and non- chordates.
Humans, scientifically known as Homo sapiens possess all the basic characteristics of the kingdom animalia and so are a part of it. The classifications of humans is in the following way-

Phylum- Chordata
Class- Mammalia
Order- Primata
Family- Hominidae
So, from the above discussion it became clear that humans do fall under the category of animal kingdom.

Humans are the most intelligent as well as are one of those that possess highly advanced characteristics. The most unique mammalian character that they possess is the milk-producing mammary glands through which they nourish their young ones. Their skin is unique too as they have hairs on them. Also the presence of an external ear or pinna is one that is not found in other groups of animals.
