Question

Mathematics Question on Ratio

Distances travelled by Hamid and Akhtar in an hour are 9 km and 12 km. Find the ratio of speed of Hamid to the speed of Akhtar.

Answer

We know that Speed = DistanceTime\frac{\text{Distance}}{\text{Time}}
Speed of Hamid =9m1h= \frac{9m}{1h}
= 9km/h
and speed of Akhtar=12m1h=\frac{ 12m}{1h}
= 12km/h
Ratio of speed of Hamid to that of speed of Akhtar = 912\frac{9}{12}
=34= \frac{3}{4}
=3:4= 3:4
