Describe the various methods of birth control techniques.
Solution
For both men and women, a number of instruments and therapies are available which can help prevent pregnancy. Such techniques are more accurate than others.
Complete answer:
To discourage childbirth or pregnancy, birth control involves the use of certain devices, medications, agents, sexual activities, or surgical procedures. This encourages individuals to choose whether they want to have a child
-
Oral anticonceptives: This is a set of pills over a month that a woman is taking once a day. A fresh set of pills begins at the end of the month. The drugs include hormones much like those created by the body of a woman to manage her menstrual cycle. They function by blocking the release of eggs from the ovaries or adjusting the lining of the uterus or cervix mucus.
-
Intrauterine (IUD): It is a little plastic unit. Some contain a hormone, or copper. For a woman, a clinician selects the right kind, and implants it into her uterus. Some will be there for 4 years; up to 8 years can be left in order for copper IUDs. IUDs prohibit the sperm from fertilising the woman's egg and adjust the uterus lining.
-
Cervical Cap / Diaphragm: A smooth rubber membrane, used for a contraception cream or jelly, in the vagina of a woman. Prior to intercourse, the diaphragm is inserted into the vagina of a woman. The entry to her uterus is sealed, and the cream or jelly prevents the sperm of the man from passing. One should insert the diaphragm into the vagina 6 hours before sex, and keep it in there for 24 hours. For up to 48 hours, the cervical cap can be kept in her vagina.
Note: There are many different methods of birth control including condoms, IUDs, birth control pills, the rhythm method, vasectomy, and tubal ligation.
