Describe the structure of the following with the help of labeled diagram
(i) Nucleus
(ii) Centrosome.

Explanation

Solution

One is a relatively large organelle which controls all of the eukaryotic cell activities and another one is consisted of two centrioles arranged orthogonally, surrounded by an amorphous protein mass called pericentriolar material.

Complete answer:
To solve this question, we have to know about the nucleus and centrosome present in a cell. Nucleus controls all the cellular functions that occur in the cell. It is spherical in shape. It is consisting of the given structural components-
Nuclear membrane:-It is a double membrane separating the components of the nucleus from the cytoplasm.
Nucleoplasm/Nuclear matrix:-It is a homogeneous granular fluid located at the centre of the nucleus. It consists of the nucleolus and chromatin. Nucleolus is a round structure that is not covered by other membranes.

Centrosome contains two cylindrical structures referred to as centrioles. Centrioles located perpendicular to one other. A centriole is composed of microtubule triplets that are equally spaced in a ring. The adjoining triplets are connected together. There is a proteinaceous hub in the inner portion of a centriole. The hub is attached to the triplets by radial spokes. These centrioles help in arranging the spindle fibres and astral rays during the period of cell division. They develop or produce the basal body of cilia and flagella also.

Note: Nucleus is a complicated protoplasmic body attached by a double membrane that involves all the genetic information important to control cellular metabolism and transmission it to posterity. A centrosome is organelle which works as the animal cell's major arranging microtubule core.
