1. Transient wilting refers to the temporary drooping of leaves and young shoots caused by a lack of turgidity around midday. It is greatly revised after the rate of transpiration slows and the replenishment of water surrounding the root hairs slows.
2. Incipient wilting is a partial and transient loss of turgor in a plant that happens in the presence of sufficient soil moisture and is linked to excessive water loss through transpiration.
3. Permanent wilting is the situation in which leaves lose their turgidity and do not regain it even after being put in a favourable environment.

The first step in repairing a wilted plant is to figure out what's causing it to wilt. Too much water, too little water, and sunburn are all typical environmental factors. Wilting may also be a result of pathogenic invasion of the plant body which clogs their vascular supplies and prevents water availability to leaves and other delicate parts hence leading to wilt.
