Fish live underwater in the aquarium. Fishes feed on other organisms as they are heterotrophs. A heterotroph is a term that was given to a type of organism that cannot manufacture its own food by fixation of carbon and therefore derives its intake of nutrition from the other sources of organic carbon, mainly plant or animal matter present in the surrounding. In the food chain, the heterotrophs are put at secondary and tertiary consumers.
A fish that is characterized by the presence of bone tissues is known as Bony fish and they are also known as Osteichthyes. Most of the fishes belong to this taxonomic order and divided into two subgroups i.e Actinopterygii (ray-finned) and Sarcopterygii (lobe-finned).
-Fishes that are characterized by the presence of cartilage are known as cartilaginous fish and divided into two subgroups i.e. Elasmobranchii and Holocephali.
