Can lightning occur thunder? Justify your answer.

Explanation

Solution

In order to give a solution for this question we need to describe the process of phenomena of thunder which in turn we will get to know the lightning occur in the thunder.

Complete step by step answer:
Lightning can strike the same plane and it very often does. The discharge from electricity is caused by imbalances between storm clouds and the ground in the lightning or within the clouds themselves. Most lightning occurs within the clouds.

When the electric discharge then there is a flash of light produced by lightning or between clouds and the ground or between clouds or any objects on the ground. Most negatively charged clouds produce the lighting. The collision process within or between the clouds is a reason for lightning phenomena. The filaments of lightning sparks are having very high temperatures even more than the sun surface of the region. The fluctuation between the high temperature and then again decreases to low temperature caused by lightning results in thunder in the sky.
Here we can explain the process of lightning caused by Thunder. When a light from the lightning travels from the sky to the ground it opens up a small hole in the air medium, this is called a channel. Once the light is gone through the air collapses back in and creates a sound wave that we hear as thunder after sometime. Light travels faster than sound because of this reason we see lightning before we hear thunder.

Note:
We can see how close count is the seconds between the flash and the thunderclap while in the process of lightning. Each second represents approximately 300m. Thunder is not only heard during thunderstorms which is not common but not rare also. When it is snowing we can hear thunder. Lightning does not always create thunder.
