Personality can be generally defined as the set of behaviours, characteristics, thoughts and attitudes, habits and expressive patterns evolved from genetic and environmental factors. The term Personality derived from a Greek word which means to a mask. Personality traits imply consistency and stability. According to psychotherapists, children inherit personalities both from their parents and the environment also, as the environment plays an important role in the developing personality traits. For transmitting characteristics from one generation to the next generation gene is a unit involved in this procedure. From any of the single genes personality is not determined, but relatively by the actions of the numerous genes working together. Major personality study finds that traits are mostly inherited.
