What is meant by black ash?

We have to remember that the black ash contains both compounds that are sodium carbonate and calcium sulfide. The compound is soluble in water and it is extracted from the ashes of plants. The calcium sulphide is the chemical compound $CaS$. And this is mainly used as a base for the luminescent materials.

As we know , black ash is the mixture of sodium carbonate and calcium sulfide. And it is the impure sodium carbonate which formed in the Le – Blanc method by the reduction of salt cake by using the coke. Or the black ash may be any of various dark coloured crude precipitate which is obtained from the industrial process. And the example is crude barium sulphide and crude sodium carbonate formed by the Le – Blanc method. This black ash is a strong material which is widely used as a shock resistance. Therefore, it is used in the tooth handles, rackets, and base - ball bats. And the black ash is also used for the rustic flooring, and good utility as wood for the boxes and it is used for the preparation of woven baskets and electric guitar bodies.

The black ash is the impure sodium carbonate which is produced from the Le – Blanc method. The Le – Blanc method is used for the preparation of soda ash. This method contains two steps. Preparation of sodium sulfate from sodium chloride. And the sodium sulphate is reacted with calcium carbonate and coal to form sodium carbonate. And this method has some disadvantages like waste issues.
