Solution
Female reproductive organ is made up of ovaries where the structure of ovary is made up of cortex and the medulla, and where the medulla is composed of various blood vessels and nerves, and cortex is made up of various stages of follicles with developing oocytes inside the follicle.
Complete answer:
Ovary consists of various follicles where the follicles are one which contains ovum, and this are present from very early stage of the life, such as during fifth month fetus life the ovary of fetus contains the tiny follicles and at that stage they are called as primordial follicles, where at this stage oocyte has incomplete meiotic division.
This follicles are called as primary follicles when the person reach the puberty stage, and they are early primary follicle, and late ones, where in early primary follicles it consists of oocyte and surrounded by layer of cuboidal cells which are follicular cells, and they also contain the thin nutritive layer which is present in between the oocyte and follicular cells called as Zona pellucida.
Later this early primary follicle develops and forms a late primary follicle where it consists of another layer called Zona granulosa which are formed by the proliferation of epithelial cells.
Later these primary follicles are formed into secondary follicles and the difference is the presence of Antrum in the granulosa layer.
Later the oocyte completes the first meiotic stage and now the follicle is called a graafian follicle but still on this stage ovulation is not completed.
Later the ovule release from the graafian follicle and the process is called ovulation, after the release of ovule, the follicular structure is called corpus lutetium.
So, the correct option is A.
Note: Corpus luteum is the structure that formed by the follicular portion once after the ovulation, and this corpus luteum synthesize steroid hormones and it is active only for 14 days, later by the action of luteinizing hormone, this corpus luteum degenerates and reduced to corpus albicans.
