A

B

altas vertebrae

C

8th8^{th} vertebrae

D

none of these

Answer

altas vertebrae

Explanation

Solution

First vertebra of frog is called atlas because it articulates with and supports the skull upon the vertebral column. Its centrum is reduced and prezygapophyses and transverse processes are absent. Thus it is the smallest vertebra and looks more ring like. Its centrum is convex at both ends (called acoelous), but the anterior end is marked by two large, oval and concave lateral articular facets for articulation with the two occipital condyles of skull.
