Question
Physics Question on mechanical properties of fluid
According to Bernoulli's equation ρgP+h+21gv2= constant The terms A,B and C are generally called respectively :
gravitational head, pressure head and velocity head
gravity, gravitational head and velocity head
pressure head. gravitational head and velocity head
gravity, pressure and velocity head
pressure head. gravitational head and velocity head
Solution
According to Bernoulli's theorem, in case of steady flow of incompressible and non-viscous liquid through a tube of non-uniform cross-section, the sum of the pressure, the potential energy per unit volume and the kinetic energy per unit volume is same at every point in the tube, i.e., P+ρgh+21ρv2= constant Dividing this expression by ρg, we have ρgP+2gv2+h= constant In this expression ρgP is called the 'pressure head', 2gv2 the 'velocity head' and h the 'gravitational head'.
