Avogadro’s law can be defined as or states that “the equal volume of all the gases, at the same temperature and pressure, will have the same number of molecules”. This law is applicable to ideal gas only. It means that if the gas is ideal, then the same number of molecules exists in the system. If the volume of the gas is equal it means that the number of molecules will be the same as that of an ideal gas when it also has an equal volume. The mathematical expression of above statement is: nV=constant or we can also say that n1V1=n2V2 where V is the volume of an ideal gas and n is the number of molecules.

From above we can see that this law can also be known as a specific case of an ideal gas law. This law was given by the scientist named Amedeo Avogadro in 1812 .
