Mathematics Question on Some Special Parallelograms

ABCABC is a right-angled triangle and OO is the mid point of the side opposite to the right angle. Explain why OO is equidistant from A,BA, B and CC. (The dotted lines are drawn additionally to help you).
ABC triangle with dotted lines extending to D

Answer

Draw lines ADAD and DCDC such that ADBCAD||BC, ABDCAB||DC
AD=BCAD = BC, AB=DCAB = DC
ABCDABCD is a rectangle as opposite sides are equal and parallel to each other and all the interior angles are of 9090\degree.
In a rectangle, diagonals are of equal length and also these bisect each other.
Hence, AO=OCAO = OC = BO=ODBO = OD

Thus, OO is equidistant from A,BA, B, and CC.
