A scooter acquires a velocity of 36km/hr in 10 seconds just after the start. Calculate the acceleration of the scooter.
Solution
Here in this question we have the velocity and the time given and we have to find the acceleration so for this we will use the formula which is given by, v=u+at , and on substituting the values and solving it we will get to the answer.
Formula used
Equation of motion is given by,
v=u+at
Here, v , will be the final velocity
u , will be the initial velocity
a , will be the acceleration
t , will be the time.
Complete Step By Step Answer:
Here in this question we have the initial velocity which will become zero as the scooter is initially at rest and the final velocity will be equal to v=36km/hr .
So, first of all, we will change the units, so we get
⇒v=36×185m/s
And on solving the above equation we will get the equation as
⇒v=10m/s
And time is given as t=10sec
Therefore, by using the formula v=u+at and on substituting the values, we will get
⇒10=0+a(10)
And on solving the above equation, we get
⇒10a=10
Taking the constant term to one side we will get the equation as
⇒a=1m/s2
Hence, the acceleration of the scooter will be given by 1m/s2 .
Note:
Here in this question the only point we have to take care of is when we are solving for the values of velocity or acceleration first of all we should check the unit of it as in this question we can see that we had changed the unit and then solve. If we don’t do it then the whole answer will be wrong. So before doing that we should check once the units.
