D

Data indadequate

Answer

Rs 8,000

Explanation

Solution

Let the person's salary be xx
He spends on education =0.4x=0.4x
books =0.24x=0.24x
Stationary items =(0.40.24)x2=\frac{(0.4-0.24)x}{2}
=0.08x=0.08x
Remaining amount =0.4x(0.24x0.08x)=0.08x=0.4x-(0.24x-0.08x)=0.08x
According to question
14×0.08x=160\frac{1}{4}\times0.08x=160
\therefore x160×40.08=Rs8000x-\frac{160\times4}{0.08}=Rs 8000
The correct option is (A)
