The gap is filled with three dielectric materials of equal thickness (see figure) with dielectric constants K1,=10,K2=12K_1, = 10, K_2 = 12 and K3=14K_3 = 14. The dielectric constant of a material which when fully inserted in above capacitor, gives same capacitance would be :

100A/3d+120A/3d+140A/3d=K0Ad\therefore \frac{10\in_{0} A/3}{d} + \frac{12\in_{0} A/3}{d} + \frac{14\in_{0} A/3}{d} =\frac{K\in_{0} A}{d}
K=12\Rightarrow K = 12
