Question

Mathematics Question on Volume and Capacity

A milk tank is in the form of cylinder whose radius is 1.5 m and length is 7 m. Find the quantity of milk in litres that can be stored in the tank.
milk tank

Answer

Radius of cylinder = 1.5 m
Length of cylinder = 7 m
Volume of cylinder = πr2h\pi r^2h
=(227)×1.5×1.5×7= (\frac{22}{7})×1.5×1.5 ×7
= 49.5 cm3
= 49.5××1000 liters = 49500 liters
1m3 = 1000 L
Required quantity = (49.5 ×× 1000) L= 49500 L
Therefore, 49500 L of milk can be stored in the tank.
