3600 = $\frac{40}{2}$ [2a + 39d]

2a + 39d = 180 … (1)

After 30 installments unpaid amount is

= $\frac{3600}{3}$= 1200

paid amount is = 2400

̃ $\frac{30}{2}$ [2a + 29d] = 2400

2a + 29d = 160 … (2)

a = 51, d = 2

8^th installment is = a + 7d

= 51 + 14 = 65
