The compressibility factor (Z) = VidealVreal=0.5
Vreal=0.4dm3mol−1=0.4 L/mol
Videal=0.50.4=0.8L/mol
∴ y = 0.8 L/mol
Using the equation PV = nRT,
P = 0.81×8×10−2×800
x = 80 atm
∴ yx=0.880=100
