Mathematics Question on Circles

A gardener wants to fence a circular garden of diameter 21m. Find the length of the rope he needs to purchase, if he makes 2 rounds of fence. Also find the cost of the rope, if it costs RS 4 per meter. (Take π\pi = 227\frac{22}{7} )

Answer

d=21  md=21 \;m

r=212r=\frac{21}{2}

Circumference = 2πr2\pi r

= 2×227×2122\times \frac{22}{7}\times \frac{21}{2} = 6666 mm

Length of rope required for fencing = 2×662 × 66 mm = 132132 mm
Cost of 11 mm rope = Rs 44
Cost of 132132 mm rope = 4×1324 × 132
= Rs 528528
