Linear momentum of bullet-gun system is conserved.
i.e.. Initial momentum = Final momentum
∴0=m1v1+m2v2
or 0=0.1×100+50×v2
∴v2=−5010=−0.2m/s
Negative sign implies recoil.
Hence, the velocity of recoil is 0.2m/s.
